I Love Family Movie Night
Can I just say that?
It’s my favorite day of the week.
We eat food everyone likes. Watch a movie no one has seen. And invite any family we can muster up within driving distance.
This past weekend was also Speedracer’s 3rd birthday, so we got to have Mr. Fix-It’s sister, father, and step-mother in town (she made the awesome hats for us!).
I’ve been a little off the picture taking lately, so I indulged myself in a birthday weekend binge–although Mr. Fix-It obviously took most of these, since I’m actually in them.
This weekend we also pulled out the little grow-your–own pine tree kits we got the kids as a project to share with their grandpa–since he’s a tree farmer. Growing pines, of course. Turns out, that “little” project takes like 6 hours, including 4 hours of soaking dirt-stuff.
So we found other ways to spend our time. Like chasing siblings around in our jammies with our new hat pulled over our faces. (I’m assuming he could see through that since he didn’t wipe out coming around the island in the kitchen and through the baby gate in the living room.)
Then we got down to the “real” business of the evening.
Which, of course, is to wear everyone out, then wind everyone down enough to give Momma and Daddy and extra hour to sleep in Saturday morning. The coffeepot didn’t have to start dripping until 7:30 am!
Those hats are fabulous!!!!! I want one!
What a fun time together! Love the pic of the 3 generations together!
And…I’m so glad you’re FINALLY in the pictures!!
I have to admit, I wish they had turned out a little better. I don’t like pictures of myself, but I know how much they’ll matter to the kids one day.
The Ladybug and I got matching ones, with a matching scarf and hat in the works for Julia (her American Doll with the fancy new bed!). They are actually red and blue/gray, not pink like the photo effect shows them. And the boys, of course, are matching colors. The blue matches their eyes perfectly and they look so cute!
Love those pictures! looks like you had a fabulous weekend 🙂
Just wanted to give you a heads up that my blog address changed. It is now Lifeafteryes.blogspot.com
in order to see my updates you’ll have to “re follow” my blog 🙂
