Both of my little boys were winter babies, one in December and one in January. So I spend the whole winter trying to convince Mr. Fix-It that their baby hats were necessary even if they were sort of…baby-ish. We had them stashed everywhere and wore a couple almost out. My favorite was a hand-knit, light yellow one we got from the hospital with Speedracer. I still have it stashed away for his baby book someday.
I’m always on the hunt for cute baby hats for winter baby gifts–useful and cute (hopefully!) is the perfect baby gift to me. So how excited am I to see the ones that my friend Aurie is selling in her Etsy shop?!
I fell in love with this color and pattern when I saw a snapshot on her blog a few weeks ago and emailed her right away! The hat is a 0-6 months and has a good stretch and return to it–which is a big deal with hand-knit goods. (They usually have plenty of stretch, but sometimes not so much return!)
The yarn she used is super-soft and the hat would be perfectly comfortable for a newborn with a fold or cuff for little heads or without for bigger heads (my kids had big heads!) as the little ones grows, so I think it’s definitely true to size.
And you better believe I double checked that pom-pom–that sucker is stitched on tight! Aurie knows as well as I do that everything goes in the mouth at that age! Which brings up a great point for me.
I love “momprenuers.” Why? Because they know what mom’s need, and they know what moms fear–because they’re moms too! Aurie is a pastor’s wife, raising two fun and busy little girls. She crafts and creates from the overflow of her love of family and you can be sure that all of her products are safe and gentle and perfectly made for your baby or precious little one–she wouldn’t have it any other way!
Be sure to check out her Etsy Shop, Blessed Life Designs for adorable, one-of-a-kind baby and child products.
Be sure to stop by her blog, Our Good Life, to see what’s going on with her little girls and their busy homeschooling life, or catch her on Twitter to chat about mothering, homeschooling, or crafting.
Disclaimer: I received this hat (pictured above) free of charge to conduct this review. However, all opinions here are mine and I’m ordering another hat as another baby gift because I’ve been so impressed with this one. I highly recommend her work.
