Today is our 10th wedding anniversary.
We are not the same 2 people that walked down that aisle.
We are not the same couple that walked back up either.
Those 2 people thought that they had already known pain, That they had faced hard times. That couple thought that their future was about them.
And then were was that couple from year 2, and year 5, and year 7, that kept thinking they had it all figured out, or that it couldn’t get worse than this, or that it couldn’t get better than this, or that this was all there was to it, or that they’d finally gotten the hang of it…
They were so wrong.
And I’m glad.
Because we’ve got 50 or 60 or so more to go and I hate to think we already have it all figured out and nothing new to look forward to.
I think that’d get rather dull, don’t you?“And if I had it to do all over, I’d do it all over again. And if tomorrow I found one more chance to begin, I’d love you, all over again.” ~Alan Jackson
