That Bucket List Thing
Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Ours was lovely, in a sort of perfectly normal, everything-as-usual, sort of way. We picked up the kiddos from Mimi on Saturday, and stopped at an antique tractor museum (I’ll post more about that tomorrow!) and then came home and everything was just about the way it always is.
Except everyone was really tired.
The Ladybug immediately noticed that we had changed one of the pictures on the living room wall from our childless antiquing adventures last Sunday. They also noticed that I had not gone upstairs and cleaned their bedrooms or playroom for them while they were gone. Oh no. We were saving that for them when they got home. {grin} If it hadn’t been for feeding the Ladybug’s goldfish I wouldn’t have gone up there at all–and even with that we completely forgot for two days. (And boy was I happy to see Glub and Fin swishing around in there all healthy and happy on Wednesday!)
Otherwise, you know that bucket list I had? Well, there’s plenty left to keep me busy!

I’m pretty sure this was right up there as Mr. Fix-It’s favorite part. But with over 65,000 square feet of antique motors and wheels to choose from (with hardly any rust in sight!) he’d probably be hard pressed to pick a favorite.
1. Go antiquing without worrying about little fingers. (DONE!) {And it was so fun! Best part of our little “vacation.”}
2. Go out to dinner without anyone ordering chicken nuggets. (DONE! Not only did no one have chicken nuggets, but we both had soup, salad, grilled fish, and broccoli–it was the most “adult” meal we’ve had in, well, forever!) {We also went out car shopping and had Mexican together. Alone. Dinner was a greater success then the car shopping.}
3. Put the Hemi in the garage for a front-end alignment and inspection. (In progress as we speak! Doing the one-vehicle shuffle just works so much better when it’s just the two of us!) {DONE! And it took two days instead of one, so we got to ride together to work and home for several days. Being at work for 2-3 extra hours a day had the potential to be disastrous, but it ended up rather fun, since we could be completely flexible while the kids were gone. Of all things, this was the second best part of our “vacation.”}
4. Put the GMC in the garage for a front-end alignment and inspection. {DONE! And it took yet one more day of riding together. It was lovely–see point above. Especially since the repairs on both ended up being a simple as we’d hope, and not as bad as we’d planned.}
5. Clean the house (Mostly DONE.) {Ha! hahahaha! Why did I bother again? Just kidding.}

Wish I’d found this baby for sale while we were antiquing–it would be awesome for a boy’s room. Or our living room!
6. Make some more paper-covered journals to use up some scraps. (In progress.) {Stopped cold and changed directions, see below.}
7. Make lunchbox notes for the upcoming school year and use up some more scraps. (In progress.) {Finished a few that I posted last week. But then I stopped cold and changed directions, see below.}
8. Clean up my papercrafting and get in to some sewing projects. {Spent all of Sunday doing this with the Ladybug, but we started on a dress for her, together, and a list of sewing projects for the new school year, and we’re very excited to keep going. We are sewing-crazy at the moment!}
9. Go to Target to return some things and pick up some things and not even look at the toy aisle! And savor a triple grande cinnamon dolce latte while I’m at it! {Nope. Not at all. Every day it got pushed back. It’s on my list for this week, but I don’t expect it to be as fun as I’d imagined.}
10. Weed the flower beds. {Ha! Hahahahaha! Better luck next time!}
Actually, those flower beds are on my list for this week, I’m just waiting for all the grass and dust to settle down from Mr. Fix-It mowing and weed-eating and spraying yesterday. My allergies can only take so much.
But don’t forget to skip over to last week’s post and enter my meal planning GIVEAWAY–you still have one day to enter!!
