Fuel for the Finish…the Daily Farm Adventures {39}
Are you familiar with the Auto-B-Good series? They’re these fun DVD shows for children that are kind of Veggie Tales meets Cars. We found them at a local Christian bookstore and the crew really enjoyed them a few years ago. (Definitely a good buy!) This post reminded me of one of those shows a little bit. {smile} The weather was gorgeous this weekend, other than all the wet and mud from the storms we got on Friday. {sigh} We were a little limited on what farm work could be done because we couldn’t drive anything on the wet ground.
Well, anything useful, anyway.
Mr. Fix-It called me out to take pictures because the Cowboy was driving!
He was driving around in the field, and didn’t hit any barns or fence posts until he went to park it when his turn was over. {smile}
It was a little hard to flag him down for adjustments. I’m not sure if he just didn’t hear or see us–or if he was intentionally not looking because he didn’t want to be called in. But the number one rule (after helmets and seat belts–which are so basic they aren’t even a “rule”) is that you have to follow Daddy’s directions. So he eventually took a pit stop.
Then he was off again. This was his first time driving. Normally he just rides with the Ladybug. He’s not allowed to have passengers yet. I mean, let’s be honest…
…He can’t even see over the steering wheel yet! {smile}
The Ladybug got to take a few laps too. But just a few.
She had to call in her crew chief…
Walking off the track is never a good sign…
They had to call in a “tow-truck.” Thankfully that was the highest (thus the driest!) part of our property! And there’s perks–like riding with Daddy on the “big” tractor. (She probably already knows how to drive that too and just hasn’t told me yet!)
I’m also thankful that the Cowboy fit his ride in early. He came down with a fever later that afternoon and emptied his stomach all over our dining room table. Ugh! We’ve gotten off fairly easy this winter as far as sickness goes. I sure hope we’re not about to make up for it now!
Mr. Fix-It and I also had some time to walk the property and lay out some spring project plans for the next couple weeks. We’ve got to take a pile of scrap metal to the recycler, repair our shade shelter (“repair” is optimistic–“rebuild” is probably more realistic!), and work on a greenhouse/high tunnel that is going to become part of our spring chicken program.
Do you have any plans for spring around your home place? I know winter is still holding fast in some areas, but there’s nothing like a few sunny days to get your mind moving forward!
See where I’m sharing this week…
Great pics 🙂 We are still in the middle of winter here, although I am dreaming of Spring…..
Yes, I’m excited to scrapbook some of these! 🙂 I think of you guys every time we see the weather report–praying it lets up on you soon. I know you have to be out and about a lot!
