Sheep Shoes and Scrub Brushes…the Daily Farm Adventures {36}
A friend and reader mentioned how the titles of my daily farm adventure posts always make her laugh. I do tend to use a bit of poetic license because I’m a fan of alliteration, but life around here just makes it so easy!
Point in case…
Who knew one day I would find myself mud-wrestling a BOOT on to a sheep! You can’t make this stuff up, friends. And believe me, it was no easy task. It took Mr. Fix-It, me, and the Ladybug (our supply-holder-passer) to pin him down and get it on. Tiberius submitted with all the grace of a freight train hitting a brick wall. He might not have much for brains, but he’s well-endowed in the muscles and brawn department.
The treatment is 2 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, so we’ll be out there again this weekend. {sigh}
And meanwhile…
Lambing season continues slowly but surely. We’ve had a rough start this year and have lost what I hope is our limit, at 2. My heart is a bit broken still. But the season will move on, and I’d encourage you to hop over to our Facebook page to follow our regular updates–posting here can get a little sporadic here when Spring gets busy.
But the work continues…
Come rain, hail, sleet, or snow (or all three last week!) we will be scrubbing and hauling and filling and gathering and all that good stuff.
This whole post reminds me of the little collection of picture books the kiddos have from Nancy Shaw…Sheep in a Jeep, Sheep on a Ship, Sheep in a Shop…{smile}
Anything new and exciting at your home place lately?
ooh…we LOVE Sheep in a Jeep and Sheep in a Shop! We just read Sheep in Space and that was pretty funny as well 🙂
We found that they were really fun for read-alouds, but now that we’ve got beginning readers, they’re great for that too. They’re actually pretty easy and encouraging for our K5 readers.
