10 Gifts for Jane Austen Fans

Do I love the classics? Yes. Do I love Jane Austen the best? Also yes. {smile} Here are 10 fun gifts for the Jane Austen fan, or classic literature lover in your life!

1. Jane Austen Coffee Mug

This Jane Austen coffee mug from The Unemployed Philosophers Guild is a favorite of mine, and I use it regularly. It’s dishwasher safe, I promise. (It wouldn’t survive here if it wasn’t.) They also make a great Edgar Allen Poe one, if that’s more your style!

2. Jane Austen Regency Profile Socks

These fun blue and purple Regency Profile socks have a great floral design on them with a literature quote. “I declare after all, there is no enjoyment like reading!” Perfect for any bookworm or Jane Austen fan.

3. Pride and Prejudice Socks

These might be my favorite Pride and Prejudice socks. The blue and green peacock design is made to match the classic 1894 hardcover design by Hugh Thomson. Any Jane Austen fan would get it, but they’re pretty even if you don’t get the book reference.

4. Jane Austen 9″ Zipper Pouch

All things organized. All things books. This 9″ zipper pouch is the right size for a pencil pouch, a makeup bag, or for stashing miscellaneous electronics, plugs, and chargers in your work tote. I use at least 3 different zipper pouches in my work bag daily. But they’re not all this cute!

5. Sense and Sensibility Zip Card Wallet

P&P might be my favorite Jane Austen story, but Sense and Sensibility is a close second! What older sister doesn’t feel like Elinor sometimes?! This Sense and Sensibility zipper card wallet is beautiful and there are also versions for Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and a bunch of other literature references too!

6. Pride and Prejudice Ceramic Book Vase

Ok, the idea of this ceramic book vase was very new, stylistically speaking, to me. Then I went on Pinterest and found a bunch of other examples and I LOVE it. My husband gives me a lot of grief {smile} about having stacks of books “everywhere.” Here’s the perfect way to make them a more meaningful part of your decor! Since I’m not just a Jane Austen fan, but a big fan of classic literature in general, it would work anywhere in our house. And they offer both vertical and horizontal versions.

7. World of Jane Austen Puzzle

One of my favorite things about this World of Jane Austen 1000-piece puzzle is that around the edge of the box are different book characters which you can seek and find IN the puzzle when you build it. We’ve already built it twice and it’s still fun and new each time.

I also have this Pride and Puzzlement one made of Characters and Couples, which we haven’t built yet. It reminds me of the beginning of the 1996 movie version of Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow, where she’s painting the portraits of all the characters.

8. Jane Austen’s Table Cookbook

My sister got me this Jane Austen’s Table cookbook a few years ago. The book is BEAUTIFUL! The cover is a lovely periwinkle blue, the paper is thick and the images are delicious full-color photography. The recipes are an eclectic mix of foods you’ll find mentioned in her stories, foods from her correspondence, and then foods that were simply part of the literary timeframe for her characters–all brought forward for a modern kitchen.

If literary food is your interest, be sure to check out the Little Women Cookbook or the Anne of Green Gables Cookbook too.

(Or for a spicy-er take, maybe the Bridgerton-inspired cookbook?)

9. The Letters of Jane Austen

A collection of more than 160 Letters by Jane Austen to friends and family, which were preserved by her sister, Cassandra. Since almost all of her writing was published either anonymously or posthumously, her correspondence is a fascinating insight and verification of both her wit and writing style.

10. Jane Austen Box Set

I have copies of all the books…but some of the new copies are so beautiful! And if you only have paperbacks, don’t you really need the hardback version for your shelves anyway? I mean, if they’re classics…and your favorites…right? Really, is it so crazy to have more than one copy of the same book? No, no it is not. (Trust me.)

All seven novels are beautiful hardcovers, clothbound. The seventh book is actually a collection of novellas and unpublished stories, so you’ll find Sanditon here.

Did you watch the Sandition TV show on PBS? It’s available on Amazon Prime Video. While not my favorite Austen adaptation, we enjoyed watching most of it. (And it’s super-easy to turn Prime Video channels and subscriptions on/off when you finish a free trial or are done binge-watching something!)

Or a gorgeous leather-bound edition with all 6 full-length novels in one?

Or even a more modern take in bright-colored hardcovers for upcoming collectors.

There are so many choices!

I need a bigger house to hold my home library ideals. {smile}
