Labor Day on Monday was technically our last day of summer here. I know it’s not the calendar’s last day, but after Labor Day we roll into the school year, so it’s our last day of our summer schedule and routine. Well, we tried going camping again this past 4th of July. We enjoyed it last year and it seemed like a great idea. We definitely made some memories–of being rained out and wet. {smile} The Cowboy didn’t even have to fall in the creek this time to end up soaking wet. I have taken 54 pictures of our summer so far. 54 photos since May 20th. This from a person who’s Flickr acct includes 46,654 images, since May 2010. Part of me finds this appalling! I LOVE taking pictures. We’ve had VBS this week. That’s Vacation Bible School if you’re not “in the know” like I now am! {grin} I’ve been manning the craft tables each evening–which involves copious amounts of school glue and washable paint and foam cut outs! While we were all home together this weekend, not doing anything special, Mr. Fix-It decided to take the kids camping. Backyard camping. Mr. Fix-It took a couple sticks, tied on a tarp, and cut some more sticks into peg-stakes. The kids were amazed. It took a whole 8 minutes before the Cowboy tripped over a support line and fell on a peg and started howling. But he recovered when Mr. Fix-It mentioned having a campfire.
