Cotton Convoy

Walking in High Cotton Posted on October 22, 2012 by Jamie OliverOctober 22, 2012 1

Ever felt like you need to slow down and just don’t know how? Might I suggest a quiet drive through the country on a Saturday afternoon in harvest season? {smile} After a busy morning with Mimi visiting, and soccer games, and going out to lunch, and walking around our fun little Main Street town, we were headed home with a truckload of tired kiddos. Cotton Days are Here

Walking in High Cotton Posted on September 24, 2010 by Jamie OliverSeptember 24, 2010

The start of cotton pickin’ season is here.  The sprayers are out and the cotton buggies are on the roads.  We don’t grow cotton, but our cousins (and just about everyone else that farms around here) grow some. It’s one of our (me and the kids, anyway) favorite crops to see harvested.  The boys like it because there’s lots of big equipment involved.  The Ladybug and I like it because after they spray and the leaves fall off it looks like snow on the fields (and that’s not something you … Continue Reading…
