Great Football Movies for the Family

Walking in High Cotton Posted on June 27, 2017 by JamieMarch 30, 2020 12
Great football movies for the family...inspiration and motivation for kids. via Walking in High Cotton

Well, we registered the boys for football this Fall. Practice doesn’t start until August, but we’ve started accumulating their gear. And they are so excited that they’ve started wearing it around the house and to do their chores, especially walking the dogs. You know, just to get used to it. {smile} Speedracer is particularly excited about it and has been filling all his extra summer minutes with football movies–which then inspire him to throw his gear on and run around the backyard like a gridiron superstar. When it comes to sports … Continue Reading…

History, Adventure, Treasure...the Ultimate Guide to Studying PIRATES. A fun family unit study via Walking in High Cotton

In the spring I mentioned that we would have two family unit studies this summer. One is our Astronomy unit study–which is continuing casually through the whole summer and has been very fun so far! I LOVE Family Movie Night. We all do. It’s the perfect, leave the work/school-week behind and transition to the weekend-at-home ritual for us. There’s tons of ideas for these awesome themed family movies nights on Pinterest now. I have a whole Family Movie Night board because some of them are so cool I want to try them too. But we do Family Movie Night every Friday, so ours looks a little different most of the time. It started out as me wanting one night a week where no one complained about what … Continue Reading…

Favorite Family Movie Night Picks!

Walking in High Cotton Posted on December 11, 2013 by JamieMarch 31, 2017 2
Favorite Family Movie Night Picks {@www.walkinginhighcotton.net} Wholesome family fun!

Last week I talked about how we make Family Movie Night work every Friday. But if we have Family Movie Night every week, how do we pick movies? Carefully! And I’m not above some judicious use of >> if needed for a good story. Our kiddos are still young (and impressionable!!) and we try to stick with the same basic criteria for movies and TV that we use for books. It’s a lot to ask of movies in this day and age and I’m constantly hunting for good choices. We’ve developed a … Continue Reading…
