Birthday Party Madness
Besides celebrating with all her grandparents in town all weekend for her graduation, the Ladybug got to cut loose on Memorial Day at one of her little, K5 friend’s birthday party.
This year we’ve been to a bowling party, an IMAX movie party, and a cowboy party with 20 kids. And a cactus-shaped pinata filled with candy.
Clearly, my days of getting away with just inviting family over for cake and ice cream after dinner are O-V-E-R. The good news is I don’t have to rent a petting zoo, pony ride, hay wagon, or tractor to provide hours of amusement to other people’s kids.
The bad news, of course, is that the Ladybug is a girl. A pink and purple and glitter and make up girl. I don’t think Mr. Fix-It is going to be up for painting either the horses or his tractor pink and purple. Although she does have a long history of having him wrapped around her little pink fingers…
I don’t have a castle, a wooded fairyland, or any bobble-headed animals like the Littlest Pet Shop toys (does anyone else think they’re wierd anyway?). But I do have a porch and a Mr. Fix-It…
And it doesn’t really take much to set fire to kids’ imaginations…Stay tuned in August…the possibilities are starting to float before my eyes…
