So, yesterday, my Mr. Fix-It turned 33.

Boy, he’s changed a lot over the years.

I didn’t know him back then.

I met him when he was 19. Yeah, he was still just a kid. (I have discovered from looking at old photos that apparently so was I…)

How the years pass…

Gotta love those birthday cakes decorated by toddlers–and flustered mothers of toddlers and pre-schoolers. Look at those lovely heaps of sprinkles!

Here’s how he would describe himself…
Quiet. Simple. Traditional. Connoisseur of old stuff.
Here’s how I would describe him…
Funny…
Sincere…
Believer…
Patriot…
Hard-worker…
Clothing and boots abuser…
Generous…
Respecter of older generations…
Lover of rusty, peeling, creaky, wobbly, old, fixer-uper stuff–particularly the kind of stuff with wheels and motors…
And family…
Beloved of me.
