Good morning World.
Have you ever had one of those days when something goes completely wrong and you just snap and see red and are SOOOOO spittin’ mad…violence and mayhem and all sorts of ugly things start running through your head…you start imagining your All-American muscled truck pushing wimpy little foreign cars off big cliffs…
Ok, ok, not everyone loses their temper like I do. Not everyone’s been watching Conan the Barbarian since they were 7 years old. But anger and impatience is part of everyone’s life. Heck, just driving from point A to point B people get so frustrated we’ve had to create the term “Road Rage” to explain it.
I am so thankful that we have God’s Word to reorient ourselves to the truth when we totally get off track. “For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” James 1:20.
I am thankful that we live in a country where we are free to praise, worship, and believe boldly and without persecution. “In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.” Ephesians 3:12.
I am thankful that we live in a country where the Word of God is easily affordable and attainable to those who want it. Who need it. Who depend on having it in their hands to keep them focused. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2Timothy 2:14.
I am thankful for a bible-believing, bible-teaching church and minister to remind us that “God says what He means and means what He says.” And then explaining it when I still don’t get it. “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists, and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…” Ephesians 4:11-12.
I am thankful that God loves me even though I can be angry and impatient. God made me exactly the way he wanted me. He knows exactly how I am. And He knows exactly what I need to overcome my tendencies toward anger, impatience and…well…a host of other sins. Jesus. Amen. “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves…” 2Timothy 2:24-25.
