Hurricane Party!!

Just kidding!  We’re blessed that Hurricane Earl decided to drift back away from our coast and all we got was a bit of rain and wind.  And I really mean just a bit.  We’re soggy, but I’ve seen worse with no warning at all.

And the best part?

We got to break out the raincoats.  We love the raincoats!

Waiting his turn...September 2010.

People that don’t have kids often think people that do have kids make it sound like the worst thing in the world.  Oh the horror stories to be told.  Maybe that’s because the bad stuff is so easy to share and understand.  Everyone can grasp the frustration/anger/horror/humor behind your 2 yr old coming downstairs looking like a hairy Sasquatch because he was coated in honey (which is totally contraband upstairs) and then rolled in the carpet.  Or the antics of your 3 yr old after he consumed an entire box of  pink lemonade “pixie stick” water mixers–without the water–before breakfast.

But how do you explain the way sunshine pours down, and your heart swells up, and you think you’re going to explode just from love–just because they look up and say “cheeeeeese!” from under their raincoat hood?
