The Carhartt Crew

Fall is officially here.  Sort of.  It’s cool enough in the mornings and evenings to force my kids back into their coveralls.

He's thinking about chasing those chickens...

And it’s just barely cool enough that they don’t mind so much.  They miss having big, easy pockets.

Big pockets to fill up with little "treasures" for me to find in the laundry.

And they definitely miss almost waterproof, completely indestructible, fear no dirt/grime/manure/slobber clothes.

Don't they look serious?

Do you know that Speedracer’s coveralls are making their 3rd round.  They just last, and last, and last…although they do get a little faded.

I don't even think they need me here anymore.

And the great thing about farming is that everyone can help.  Even if it’s just as moral support.

Climbing is apparently an inborn skill of childhood. No teaching necessary.

Of course, sometimes that’s the not-so-great thing about farming, too.  I’m sort of tired of slimy sheep slobber.

They still find it exciting.

She'll be running this place by the time she's 10.

And I still need my helping hands.

Speedracer, out of gas.

I’m sure with all these skills they’ll be off on their own long before I’m ready to go it alone.
