Hello World!

Have you heard that new song from Lady Antebellum, Hello World?  (You can hear it on their site by clicking on the Now Playing box on the left sidebar) I didn’t get it at first, but the more I hear it and think about it, the more I really love it now.  It expresses how complicated life seems to me.  Love and hate, faith and grace, sin and forgiveness, all wrapped up together.

“Hello World, how’ve ya been…good to see you, my old friend.  Sometimes I feel cold as steel…broken like I’m never gonna heal.  I see a light, little grace, little faith unfurled…well, hello World….”

The holidays are like that for me now.  Beautiful and meaningful and painful and full of memories. A struggle away from loneliness and into a blessed hope. Feeling older, feeling wiser, feeling vulnerable, feeling sheltered…

“He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall  be they shield and buckler.” (Psalms 91:4)

I didn’t write over the last 5 stay-home days because my cup was filled to overflowing with picking pretty leaves for our table, cooking scrumptious food, making up beds with fresh clean sheets, exploring local family spots…ah beautiful life!  I can’t wait to share more of all if it with you!

Some things I’ve got coming up before we even actually get to Christmas…

  1. Wednesday is our 9th wedding anniversary.  Wow!
  2. Saturday is the Cowboy’s 4th birthday.  Wow again!
  3. I have to produce a chocolate cake with cowboys yip-yipping cows on the top.  Ha!

And I have officially taking more than 10,000 photos since May! Mostly because I’m a terrible photographer and I’m playing the odds that one of them has to be good! So I’m on the hunt for photo organizing tips and I’m looking forward to sharing them with you as well. I’m sure a large part of getting this under control is going to involve the DELETE button…but we’ll see what we find.
