The other night I was tired.
Tired, itchy, sneezy, headachy, and tired.
Tired of noise (oh, the noise. The constant, constant noise).
Tired of nursing sheep.
Tired of bawling cows.
Tired of having a tired, busy husband.
Tired of cooking dinner, washing dishes, and folding laundry. Tired of my house being a mess unless I was cooking, washing, and folding. Just tired.
As I looked out the kitchen window, I noticed some interesting color going on in the back field. The sky was dark, gun metal gray and heavy looking and the sun was just slanting across the trees and hitting that brilliant new-spring-green grass…so I slipped outside for a moment to see if I couldn’t figure out some way to pick up those strange, interesting colors with the automatic setting on my poor, overworked camera…
And while my photography skills may be meager in deed, what did my tired, itchy eyes spy over there to the left? So very, very faint and pale?
Sure enough! There it was. Getting brighter and brighter by the moment. Stretching all the way across our back field from treeline to treeline–too wide for me to get a full on picture of.
I hollered for those noisy kids and that tired husband of mine right away.
And then, as that rainbow of promise got brighter and brighter and each color came out more and more, what did we see? What could make this moment even better? Even more special? Do you see? There to the left…
Yep.
God sent us two!
Least we ever doubt…God is good.
God is able to do abundantly more than we are even able to ask for.
I am thankful that God provides even when we don’t know what to pray.
I am thankful that He gave us this moment, this teachable, livable, moment to share with our little arrows.
I am thankful that He redeemed my evening and refreshed my spirit and lifted me up out of the mire of the daily grind.
I am thankful that He reminds me unequivocally of His presence and His preeminence through the beauty of His creation.

I’m also linking up over at SomeGirl’s Website for Thought Provoking Thursday. If you’re looking for some more encouragement, inspiration, or just something to chew over for a while, you should stop by and check out some of the posts over there!
(*BTW, I enhanced those last two a bit by bumping up the contrast to make the second one brighter so you could see it. It didn’t need my help in real life, but I’m not much of a photographer.*)
