There’s a different between being frugal and being cheap. I know I’m cheap because I can not bring myself to pay someone to cut my kids’ hair. I would rather force them to live with a home-made, butchered-up, mess than pay some stranger $15 every other month to cut something that’s going to grow back again, and again, and again. (I’m the same way about kids shoes, but we’ll save that for another post.) Besides, out here in the country we take care of ourselves.
Yep. We do it at home.
Of course, boys are easy. You just shave it all off. And in my case it’s even easier because Mr. Fix-it does it. So any time you find me using terms like “I” or “we” in this post, it’s because “the two shall become one”–not necessarily because my hand ever touch those clippers.
Somehow I started out with this…

And long the way…

I ended up with this…

And yes, I said boys because we have more than one. Not so very long ago, my littlest boy looked like this…

And then it was his turn…

And now my boys are all gone and I have these little men running around…

They look tough! They look mean! They look…

The same to me? I think so.
