The internet has taken crafting to a whole new level for the amateur like myself. There as so many wonderful artists and crafters out there blogging or posting their work for everyone to admire and be inspired by. And so many great communities you can join to chat about ideas, inspirations, or challenge each other to create.
Here’s a card I made that was inspired by one from Carrie Gaskin’s blog Artistic Avenger…

Sorry the green/yellow/brown combo doesn't show up better (still figuring out the camera) it's really gorgeous in real life!
You can see her card here. And it would be so easy to manipulate the colors to be more kid-friendly or more feminine or to change the animal out. I’m working on a very similar one as a baby card in pink and green except that it’s a turtle with a 3D shell.
You can even subscribe to have inspiration dropped right in your inbox! One of my favorites is Mojo Monday–a group of creative, crafty women who post card pattern sketches and sample cards each Monday for your inspirational pleasure. Plus, you can upload your own lovely creations to their gallery to share with everyone! I haven’t had the nerve yet–they are all so talented!
Here’s this week’s sketch…
They’ve already got 70 sample cards posted in the gallery on their site for this sketch. Check out all these! This one is my favorite from this week, so far…
One of my favorite Stampin Up! demonstrators besides Rachel is Mary Fish. She updates her Stampin Pretty site almost daily with fresh ideas. I’m a particular fan of her gallery of masculine cards–since I’m vastly out numbered around here!
If you’re not sure how to get started, just get out there on the web…inspiration is at your fingertips!
Very cute card! Love the little lion!
