I am a Momma of cowboys and dragon-riders.
I am a Momma of stick-horse riders and race car drivers.
I am a Momma of boot wearers and jean rippers.
Of sweaty-faced frog wranglers and sticky-fingered juice box inhalers and screwdriver-waving garage busters.
I am a Momma of boys.
Two blue-eyed, chubby-cheeked, strong-willed, loud-voiced, rough and tumble ALL-BOY, boys.
People often think they’re twins, but they’re not. At 13 months apart, they’re like peanut butter and jelly–totally different but best together.
My Cowboy…my first son…my middle child…is serious, factual, and completely his own person. He will play alone for hours by choice, wear his cowboy hat to the grocery store without the slightest discomfiture, and spout National Geographic facts about the Macaroni Penguin like he’s the narrator for a PBS special.
Then there’s my Speedracer…my baby…my unexpected special blessing…with his Daddy’s sweet dimples and dark hair. He thrives on getting along and being included, loves all things vroooom and zoooom and rrrroarrr, and only cries when he needs a nap.
Are you stopping by for the first time? So nice to meet ya!
Walkin in High Cotton is about daily life as a hard-praying momma who works and farms…who writes and grieves…who cleans and creates…who’s trying to grow a legacy of love and faith into her branch of the family tree…who cultivates gratitude as the open doorway to joy.
Somewhere in the middle of working and farming, losing my parents and raising 3 strong-willed children with my Mr. Fix-It, I found time to take up cardmaking as a hobby…and then scrapbooking…and now sewing…which are all slowly coalescing into a little business venture called Fresh Accessories. I post about crafting and creating every Wednesday.
I love to chat about all things faith, farming, crafting, and motherhood (and how all they all do and don’t go together!) so click on the blue “t” on the top left sidebar to chat with me on Twitter (@va_grown) or stop back by anytime. We’ll be here yip-yipping sheep and feeding chickens and sewing more tote bags than any one family could ever use.
Enjoying our daily grind…with boots on!
I’m linking up over at the FIRST ANNUAL BOY-MOM BLOG HOP today at The MOB Society! Be sure to stop by and visit more boy moms (or pray for the ones you know!)
