Did you see the little maple leaf button I added to my left sidebar the other day? I’m going to be doing the Giving Thanks Challenge this year.
It’s hosted by Leah at South Breeze Farm, and I came across it from a reader (and friend!), Melissa, who blogs over at Homesteading by Faith. All you have to do is post one thing you’re thankful for every day in the month of November. If we’re honest with ourselves, we shouldn’t really think that’s very hard or all that challenging. We all know we’re abundantly blessed.
But I also know that I am what I am (you know what I’m saying—ok, ok, I’m an imperfect sinner–there I said it out loud, no need to beat a dead horse by repeating it…) and I know that forcing myself to take time out of the holiday busyness that’s fast approaching to intentionally give thanks every day will be nothing but good for me.

So here’s what I’m going to do. I’ll keep posting as usually, but I’ll be starting a little list over there under that button on November 1st. And I’ll be adding at least one thing every day. Well, maybe not on Saturday and Sunday, but I’ll definitely catch up with 3 on Mondays. (I tend to go pretty tech-free on the weekend!) This seems like such a beautiful way to start preparing our hearts for the true meaning of the Christmas season that is right around the corner!

If you blog, I would love for you to join me and link up over at South Breeze Farm on Tuesday the 1st! There’s no bad time or place to count our blessings! And if you don’t blog, feel free to stop by and see how the list grows!
