Main Street Christmas Parade

Well, Mr. Fix-It’s been at it again. He’s been sawing and screwing and leveling and constructing (and re-construction) and hauling straw and stapling and bracing and adjusting…

The beginning.

We’ve been helping build and organize a float for our church and school to put in our little hometown Christmas parade Saturday morning.

Whew, it’s been a lot of work. I think it’s been fun (not everyone will agree 100% with me on that one!). And I think it’s going to go great.

Many hands make light work.

And regardless of how it goes, I’m glad we did it!

The theme for the year is “Main Street Holiday Magic.” I’m not completely clear on what that means, but we added a street sign just in case. {grin}

Raise the roof!

Mr. Fix-It will be driving. Our crew will be on the float, singing (hopefully), in costumes (hopefully), with their other church buddies. I’m a little concerned about the costume part. I got the box full of handmade robes from the church and started going through them and, well, some modifications might be in order. Some of them were touching the ground even with the Ladybug standing on a chair.

"Away in a manger, no crib for a bed..."

And I’m not sure where I’ll be but I hope it involves taking pictures and not chewing my nails off with worry that someone is going to see their momma out in the crowd and try to jump off half way down Main Street.

Wish us luck, I’m sure I’ll be posting more about it next week!

Do you have a local Christmas parade? Do you go?
