This past weekend I had some great card-making time with my Aunt over the long holiday. It’s so fun to work with someone! Thoughts, ideas, questions, all bouncing back and forth…it really motivates me to get going.
I started with some lunchbox notes to warm up. And used my new owl punch from Stampin Up!, of course, because I totally LOVE it!
One for my girl and one for my boy at school. I haven’t quite figured out how to get a note to Speedracer at the babysitter. He doesn’t take a lunch and half the time he doesn’t take even a backpack or diaper bag now. I might just have to start leaving it in his carseat in the morning with my steering wheel notes for Mr. Fix-It.
I also used up some alphabet chipboard I had picked up a while ago on clearance for my scrapbooking. The kids love monogram stuff and notes with their names on them because even the littlest ones can recognize their own names. These lunchbox cards tend to come out…interesting…because I used my scrap basket for them. I don’t cut new paper for them. So they can be any size or shape, just always small. The kids love textures, glitter, sparkles, or ribbons, so I try to embellish them with any miscellaneous stuff I have.
I usually stick them on the very top after packing their lunchbox. And I have discovered that they save them all by sticking them in the front pockets of their lunchboxes. It’s sweet to know they appreciate them and save them.
