Sneak Peek

Well, as my laundry pile can attest to, we’re still really busy around here. But I just finished checking out some pictures from the craft show last weekend and thought I would post a few before I get everything up in the shop this weekend!

It was so windy out there that we had gusts that were sliding our tent over.

Our table turned out pretty well, but we had to keep making modifications because the wind would gust and knock everything over and slid our canopy into our neighbor and blow stuff off our table. It got a little old after a while.

I still owe each of my kids a set of eco-fresh pockets for their lunches...maybe by Christmas.

The crowd was not as large as we expected and I have to say, I’d forgotten how…hmmm…not friendly some people can be. There were so many people who I said, “Hi, how are ya today?” and they made full eye contact with me and still kept walking by without saying anything.

I think I'm finally pink-and-oranged out for a while. I've been eyeing brown and lime green lately!

But we met some other crafters that we were excited to chat with (We might just have a couple giveaways in the offing…hint! hint!) and I got some more ideas for our next show.

Something we got asked about quite a few times was more masculine fabrics. I’m a little bit at a loss with that because 1. I don’t have any idea what constitutes “masculine” fabric choices other than camo and 2. My husband and boys probably wouldn’t actually carry any of our products, regardless of what fabric I used, which leaves me personally clueless and a little weak on the advice end too. My guys are just not Kindle-carrying, journal writing, gift tagging types.

I'm thinking our booth could have used some solid background.

I’ve gone back and forth about trying more masculine products or just sticking with my girlie stuff because that’s what I like and know. I’m pretty sure I could hit the kid mark and make some cute, fun little boy stuff (my sister did some adorable Tinkerbell and Hot Wheels DS cases!)…but I’m not sure I should even worry about trying to dive into adult male products.

What do you think? Stick with what I know and like? Or follow the customer conversations we’re having? I’m thinking go with what I know right now…
