First Day of School

Want to see why I haven’t been writing much lately?

Ok, look at this…

And cue the tears.

My moments have been taken up with planning, prepping, and praying as we wrap up the summer and start into our fall with soccer practice, school starting, lamb harvest coming, and ever more house painting to be done.

Speedracer is still required to take a nap. He thinks it's unfair.

The Ladybug is starting 4th grade this year and told me that she knows how things are going to be now, so it’s going to go much better than last year, so can she please play the flute.

The Cowboy can't wait to prove he doesn't need a nap anymore!

The Cowboy is going into 1st grade this year and told me he’s a big boy now and doesn’t have to take naps anymore at school, but it’s not going to be fun because he doesn’t get a snack.

And Speedracer? Oh-ho, Speedracer. He’s going into Kindergarten and told me he’s not excited about school because they’re going to expect him to know stuff and do stuff and he doesn’t want to. (We’ll be praying for his teacher a lot this year.) I sent them each off with a beautiful bar of soap from The Daily Scrub and a lovely first day note for their teachers. Here’s to starting the school year off with a clean slate!

What’s your week shaping up to be?
