Wednesday Windings 01/19/2011…Spreading the Inspiration
Hello! Happy Wednesday and welcome to the first link-up at Walkin’ in High Cotton! I’m so excited to have figured this out (I hope), but if it doesn’t work, just bare with me (and email me!) and I’ll see what I can do.
If you’re still brand new to all this stuff (like me!) here’s how it works…
Wednesday Windings is about all the different forms of creativity that make up our lives. In my case it sort of started with card making, which turned into scrapbooking, then general papercrafting, which somehow lead to sewing, which has refueled some of my previous endeavors in crocheting, baking, and home decorating…They’ve all become part of my daily ministry to my family. And more and more I find time to reach out to our neighbors and friends as well. The whole, messy, creative process has become quite fulfilling for me.
“Windings” can mean “convoluted, intricate, complicated, meandering, twisting, turning, twining, waving, mazy, spiral, in and out, around about…” Which seems to describe how the crafty and artistic women I most admire create such beautiful projects. So, the rather loose purpose of this weekly link-up is to share our projects with each other and spread the inspiration around.
All you have to do is enter a name for your post or picture, your email (which is not shared publicly!), and the url of your project post or picture in the linky on the left sidebar and hit SUBMIT.
{If you don’t have a blog, don’t worry, you can submit a picture of your project anyway. Just check out this post from yesterday for some suggestions of how.}
Then go visit the other posts listed and leave them some comment love too. Feel free to right click and copy the Wednesday Windings badge at the top of this post and paste it into your post too!
And if you actually came here to see what projects I’ve been up to, today I’ve got a couple pictures from the Ladybug. She got a scrapbooking kit from my sister for Christmas and I’ve been helping her put some pages together with some pictures I already had printed and laying around. The patterned papers are really very cute and much more vibrant than comes across in these pictures. My kitchen lighting is just terrible.

She scrapped one of our farm kittens, Garfield, because she doesn't want to forget her since she went to a new home.
It turns out my girl is a bit of a minimalist.

And she scrapped a butterfly because it's pretty and she likes purple flowers. (I happen to be very fond of this picture myself--it's my new computer wallpaper.)
I barely convinced her to let me write in the dates.
I agreed to sit down and let her pick some pictures to print in a few days, but first I’ve got a couple scrapbooking projects that I’ve got to get finished by the end of this month (and will probably show you in a few weeks). So for the moment she’s working on one of her brother and one of fluffy yellow chicks.
great idea about the linky Wednesdays! the ladybug did a great job on her pages. i’m quite impressed!
Well, I’m hoping some of my truly talented friends are going to link up and show everyone some really good stuff! (hint, hint!) Thanks for stopping by!
I am not at all creative, so I won’t be linking up but I am looking forward to see what other people create!
Ladybug’s scrapbook is looking great!
Ha! Ha! I bet you’re more creative than you give yourself credit for! We’re all our own worst critics. Thanks for stopping by though! The Ladybug is going to be so excited to see everyone’s comments about her project!
Ladybug has quite the scrapbooking talent! Her pages are adorable!
Thanks! It’s really fun to sit down and share that hobby with her. But she’s very opinionated too! She surprised me a little bit, because I expected her to want stickers and glitter and stuff everywhere. She was very specific about how she wanted them to look.
Great job Ladybug!! Her pages are fantastic and I’m sure she is going to get a lot of joy out of looking at them and showing them to visitors and family!
Yes, she’s quite proud of herself. I think I might have created another paper crafting monster! 🙂
so cute!! I’m a minimalist scrapper too 🙂 I’ll link up as soon as I take photos of my projects!
So excited to see what you’ve been working on!
You’ve got a great idea for a linky! The Ladybug’s scrapbook pages are beautiful!
