It Was Not a Tractor

So, you might not have hear (if you were living under a rock on the steppes of Russia or something) that we had an earthquake yesterday down here in Virginia.

Yep. An earthquake.

It was not a big tractor driving by.

It was not a jet flying low manuvers.

It was not wind gusts preceeding Hurricane Irene this weekend.

It was an earthquake.

In Virginia.

I’m still trying to wrap my mind around it. I felt it, oh, I definitely felt it. But I didn’t really believe it at first. (Which means we were lucky, because it wasn’t strong enough here to do any damage.) I mean, my neighbor was still out there cutting her grass like nothing happened, so surely we didn’t just have an earthquake!

It was so not like in the movies!

The kids thought it was pretty darn cool though. (Our house cat Scratchy didn’t, but that’s another story.)

If you were hoping for a crafty post, well here ya go–head over to Fresh and check out the adorable  sewing machine cover I made with these delicious scraps!

According to my scrap box, I love orange right now!

In the meantime, now we’re battening down the hatches and preparing for impact for Hurricane Irene this weekend–I don’t have any trouble believing that is coming!
