Gift Tags
This weekend I sat down to finish up some covered journals and decided that the scraps would make some lovely gift tags. I got a little carried away and ended up just going and going even when I ran out of scraps and starting in on brand new paper.
I liked the way the scraps came together so well, I’ve got a couple more journals in progress using the same combinations! The blue ones are my favorites right now.
I’ve also been using glitter a lot. I like the way you can just outline something simple and make it something fancy.
It’s messy though. I’ve got glitter floating around everywhere in the workshop. I’m not sure how it even ends up in my hair, but once it’s there it doesn’t come out easily. I think it’s paper to fingers to ponytail. Mr. Fix-It is constantly trying to wipe it off my cheeks or clothes lately.
One thing that still defeats me sometimes in crafting and creating are all the choices. I don’t know what to try or choose first. Even glitter, there’s so many different colors (white, silver, white gold, or ice?), different textures (chunky vintage glass glitter anyone?), so many adhesive options!
I’m getting braver to just try it, but usually only after I’ve bought it and sat looking at it for a few weeks. Then I usually love it and use it on everything for weeks!
What’s a technique or material that you would love to try but just haven’t gotten the nerve up for yet?
They are lovely tags! LOVE the glitter! It really makes the paper pop!
How totally awesome! You are sooooo creative!
How pretty 🙂 I’m a glitter girl – but it takes me awhile to brave the mess!
I keep seeing these projects where people combine sewing with papercrafting and I think they are beautiful. I haven’t tried that yet, but I have it on my list of things to try…I’m just afraid that it won’t turn out right. Your tags are wonderful and so eye-catching!! Great job!
again, you amaze me.
